Chen Chen is the author of When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities, which was longlisted for the National Book Award. His work appears in many publications, including Poetry, Poem-a-Day, The Best American Poetry (2015 & 2019), and The Best American Nonrequired Reading (2017). He has received a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from Kundiman and the National Endowment for the Arts. He holds an MFA from Syracuse University and a PhD from Texas Tech University.

National Book Award winner Julia Glass and Iowa Writers' Worksop instructor Ethan Canin

Jim Shepard will give a reading and Q&A during CIWR's June Session!

Wells Tower (Fall Session) and Margot Livesey (Summer Session) will be the 2017 workshop leaders. Wells Tower is the author of Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned. Margot Livesey is the author of seven novels and is on permanent faculty at the Iowa Writers' Workshop.

Anna Noyes, author of "Goodnight, Beautiful Women," will give a reading at Cuttyunk Island Writers' Residency 2017 Fall Session 

Emma Cline, New York Times bestselling author of "The Girls," will give a reading at Cuttyunk Island Writers' Residency 2017 Summer Session 

National Book Award winner Nathaniel Philibrick will give a reading and talk during the Fall 2017 Session!

Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Harding will give a reading and talk during our Summer 2017 Session!

Thrilled to announce that string band Lula Wiles will return for our 2017 residency! 

Award-winning chefs Didi Emmons and Odessa Piper will be cooking for the June 2017 session.
