Workshop Leader 2019:
Suzanne Brooker has been a teaching artist for over 20 years. She has published three instructional books on drawing and painting including, Essential Techniques of Landscape Drawing (2018), Components of Landscape Oil Painting (2015), and Portrait Painting Atelier (2010). Suzanne is a master of translating the visual complexities of the natural world into tangible concepts for artists. Learn how to render nature with all of it’s many guises: air borne clouds, flowing water, eruptions of earth, both craggy and smooth, to the elegant sculpture of trees.

Visiting Artist 2018:
Anne Harris currently teaches in the BFA and MFA programs at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has exhibited at the Alexandre Gallery, DC Moore Gallery, Nielsen Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Institute, The Portland Museum of Art, the California Center for Contemporary Art and the North Dakota Museum of Art. Her work is in such public collections as The Fogg Museum at Harvard, The Yale University Art Gallery and The New York Public Library. She has received a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and an NEA Individual Artists Fellowship.
Guest Speaker 2018:
A painter and arts writer, Sharon Butler is widely known as the founder of Two Coats of Paint, a project which includes an influential art blog, an artists residency and other initiatives. The blog has been sponsored by numerous arts organizations including Creative Capital and the Warhol Foundation. In 2015, she was named the Patricia Highsmith-Plangman Fellow at Yaddo and was also the inaugural artist-in-residence at Counterproof Press. She has shown work at NADA New York (2014), and her 2016 painting exhibition at Theodore:Art in Bushwick was selected as a Critic's Pick in Time Out New York.
